Smooth Move, Ex Lax

Posted on MacWorld’s iPhone site, in response to NBC deciding they don’t want to sell content on iTunes anymore.

Well, that’s not entirely true. Apparently, they wanted to double the wholesale price of their shows, thus driving the price you and I pay for episodes of The Office or Heroes to $4.99 each. That’s too much. I happily pay $1.99, but double?

Nah. And that’s what Apple said - They’re dropping NBC before the new shows start later this month. Good for them. Here’s what I wrote:

Oh no.

What will I ever do?

I have HD cable with an HD Digital Recorder. Even so, I bought "The Office" and "Heroes" for convenience and to have those shows available on my iPod/iPhone.

I’ll now have to SET MY DVR TO RECORD THOSE SHOWS EVERY WEEK.

How will I ever manage? But more importantly, how will I spend those dollars NBC used to get from me?

Nice move, NBC.

Big media apparently still doesn’t get our new world.
