Using the iPhone with Google Docs

I know, I know…This is becoming an iPhone blog, isn’t it? Well hell, a few weeks ago, it was a Sopranos blog, so I guess it jumps around a bit. But then, so do I.

Reading the fantabulous iPhone Central Blog from the incredibly smart and good looking MacWorld people, I saw some disappointment over iPhone users not being able to use Google Docs, the equally fantabulous online word processing and spreadsheet program (jeesh, I hate to call it a ‘program’, that’s so…I don’t know…20th century). I’ve been a Docs user since it was Writely and Google has really made it awesome (jeesh, I hate to use words like awesome, it’s so…I don’t know…20th century).

I was elated! I had already figgered that one out! See Ma, I AIN’T stupid! I can cipher! Using Google Docs (at least the word processor part) is a simple matter of being "Two Thumbs Don" (sorry, see William Shatner’s Has Been for that reference) using iPhone’s Notes widget (or app, or whatever) and EMAIL the result to your super-secret-and-special email address that uploads to your Docs account. I use the very same tip to send spreadsheets my Office-lovin’ colleagues pollute my inbox with.

Actually, a pretty elegant solution, if I do say so myself. And by the way, buy the William Shatner Has Been album - It’s produced by Ben Folds and is AWESOME (there’s that word again).
