Holidays are NOT the time for vacations
According to the Berkun Blog. via Lifehacker
I totally agree. Last year - Vacation at the holidays equaled being away with a skeleton crew back at the ranch, which meant getting daily calls about things they couldn’t handle themselves. Which equalled no vacation at all.
This year - Different story. In fact, after tomorrow, I’m off for two weeks. My holidays this year were quiet and loose at the office and I handled what came up. Now, everyone’s filing back in, bleary-eyed from a hectic holiday season when everything recreational got crammed into a couple weeks already full of committments.
Me? Smiling on the way out the door saying "see you biatches in a couple weeks."
