Great minds?
You know, I’m caught between the irony of the situation and the Kevin-centric belief that someone in power at HBO actually read my blog and acted on a stupid idea that I had here.
Basically, I suggested that HBO act like the over-the-air networks and cross-over some of their successful shows to make them more successful. I, of course, was joking, and wrote some Larry David meets his new cell-mate in OZ dialogue.
A few months later, the network started promoting their shows by doing, through promos, just that. Larry on the Sopranos, Soprano characters in OZ, etc…
It was weird.
Weirder yet, was one of the last Curb Your Enthusiasm shows of last season, where Larry is on the street buying marijuana from a street dealer. I flipped out, saying to my wife “he is going to get pinched, just like I wrote!”
Of course he didn’t, but the character played by Super Dave Osborne does.
Weird.
And speaking of Super Dave, you know who his famous brother is?
None other than the hilarious and talented Albert Brooks. If you didn’t know that, just look at them - there’s quite a family resemblance.
And to take it one step further…What’s their real last name? The answer to this will make it obvious why at least Albert took on a stage name.
Einstein.
