Broadening the debate
As much as I hate to admit it, Comedy Central’s new show, Crossballs looks seriously funny. They get unsuspecting experts on a faux debate show ala Crossfire or Hardball, and put them up against a stand-up comedian pretending to be an expert, or at least someone with an opposing view. Laura Weinstein didn’t fall for it, however.
From the preview clip of a show debating old people behind the wheel, an elderly gentleman complete with cane and near comatose wife sitting next to him, explaining why his generation still deserves wheels:
It’s true, sometimes senior citizens do kill people with their driving, but put it in perspective. It’s one of the only ways we have of killing people.
Looks very, very, funny.
