Michael Moore’s new book excerpt on Salon
Michael Moore’s new book, Dude, Where’s My Country? is out, and Salon’s got an excerpt this morning.
What is the worst lie a president can tell?
“I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky.”
Or …
“He has weapons of mass destruction — the world’s deadliest weapons — which pose a direct threat to the United States, our citizens and our friends and allies.”
I’ve been a fan of Michael Moore, but lately he’s way off base. Bowling for Columbine was a mess. Unfortunately, in the documentary, he accomplishes nothing more than getting K-Mart to stop selling ammunition and embarrassing himself by repaying Charleton Heston’s hospitality with extreme rudeness. Moore’s big talent, unfortunately, is pointing out problems we all can see and then pointing his finger at someone he thinks is completely responsible, with no suggestion whatsoever about what to do to remedy the problem.
Then he tears a rotator cuff patting himself on the back.
